The history of the house U Černého medvěda in Jablonné nad Orlicí, originally a farmstead, dates back to the end of the 16th century. The logo of the brewery is based both on the municipality's coat of arms and on an inscription on a preserved beam, which refers to an architectural intervention in 1758 by Jan Johannes Doleček of Mistrovice. It is from this period that the characteristic façade with the arcade and the terrace on the first floor, which is part of the hotel rooms, has been preserved.
Black Bear (Černý medvěd) is a brand that follows the best traditions of liquid hops. The small brewery and restaurant offers an authentic experience of the original recipe of its unfiltered and unpasteurised beers.

The town of Jablonné nad Orlicí lies on the eastern borders of the natural landscape area of the Orlické Mountains in the valley of the Tichá Orlice, the most beautiful river in eastern Bohemia.
