Spa Kynžvart

Spa Kynžvart

The small town of Lázně Kynžvart is located 780 metres above sea level near Slavkov Forest.

Due to its specific climatic conditions, Spa Kynžvart is designated as the most important spa resort in the Czech Republic for the treatment of non-tuberculous diseases of the air passages and skin diseases. They focus on treating children patients.

Come and unwind…

The spa, which has four mineral springs, was founded by the Metternich family in the middle of the 19th century after an analysis of local mineral springs and climatic conditions had been carried out. An important turning point in the history of the spa was the year 1950 when the remarkable healing effects of the local climate were discovered during a whooping cough epidemic. Since then the spa has specialised in the treatment of children between the ages of 2 and 15. Treatment was eventually expanded to include that of allergic skin diseases and, because of the suitability of the water, the treatment of kidney and urinary tract diseases in children and teenagers.

Kynžvart Spa is boarderd with the famous spa triangle, listed in the UNESCO list, which includes the world-famous spa Karlovy Vary, Mariánské lázně and Františkovy lázně. Above the Spa Kynžvart rises the border mountain Krušné Mountains, which are also on the list of intangible heritage of UNESCO.
