Northern beauty in the Jizera Mountains

Experience the northern beauty of the Jizera Mountains in winter

Imagine the joy of gliding on cross-country skis through the beautiful and gently undulating countryside with distant views of unspoilt nature with a rugged northern character. Such are the Jizera Mountains in winter. The incomparable terrain and also natural and historical attractions draw many visitors here every year to enjoy the local hospitality. You, too, can be among them!

Nearly 160 km of groomed cross-country paths: This is the famous Jizerská Magistral. You can choose from eight entry points to this cross-country route, always conveniently located near major hotels and guest houses. If you want to test your skills against other skiers, you can participate in one of the most famous Czech cross-country ski races – the Jizerská Padesátka, or Jizera Fifty, which is the only Czech race in the Worldloppet international federation of cross-country skiing marathons.

Straight from the slopes to a wellness centre!

The Jizera Mountains also have much to offer those who prefer downhill skiing. You can hone your skills, for example, at the Ještěd Sports Area, which offers all the amenities for excellent skiing, entertainment and dining experiences. Right below Ještěd Mountain you will find the main city of the region, Liberec, with its magnificent town hall and a beautiful historical city centre. You can sweeten your stay in the city with a visit to the Babylon Centre with its popular waterpark and a pleasant wellness centre where you will be wonderfully pampered.

Treat yourself to the gifts of the Jizera Mountains

How best to reward yourself for your sporting accomplishments? Gentlemen certainly would not turn up their noses at an excellent beer from one of the local breweries, while the ladies would surely appreciate some beautiful costume jewellery, which has a centuries-old tradition of production in the region. Come enjoy the Jizera Mountains with all the trimmings!
