MAMA Shelter Hotel Joins the Art District of Holešovice in Prague
The spirit of revitalization spreads across the neighborhood of Art District 7, as warehouses have become performing arts spaces and talented street artists brighten the walls of public transport hubs. Contemporary artists grace the walls of the National Gallery’s Trade Fair Palace and socially conscious exhibits get people talking at DOX Centre for Contemporary Art.
Mama Shelter’s addition to this colorful scene gives the hip young crowd an equally fun space to call home base while in Prague. The team behind the new 238-room venue want to assure guests that “this isn’t just a place for partying stags and collegiate sightseers”. Instead, they wanted to create a space “for the hip playwrights and psychedelic rock bands of today’s Prague to freely mix with all the curious travelers, a living part of a vibrant city.”

Athletic travelers can make use of the basketball court, beach volleyball, boxing, and a mini-gym. Fuel for all that fitness comes from a 300-seat restaurant serving burgers and international dishes or the garden bar menu of hot dogs and ice cream. Sunday brunches run from noon to late afternoon for a lazy end to a long weekend in the Czech capital. Kids are welcome, groups are easily accommodated, and one of Prague’s most exciting neighborhoods is right at your doorstep.
