In Footsteps of Santini
Beautiful and distinct architecture that will amaze you with its play of lights and shadows, harmony and special atmosphere: these are the buildings designed by Jan Blažej Santini, a genius Czech architect and founder of the Baroque Gothic style.

Some of his buildings are inscribed in the List of World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. His typical style can be confirmed in 80 places across the country!

Jan Blažej Santini was born in Prague, into the family of a respected Italian mason; his mother was Czech and he was baptised in St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle. This important representative of the late, Central European Baroque lived in Malá Strana, on Nerudova Street where he owned two houses (No. 211 and 212). Take a walk to this area as well; it’s one of the most picturesque streets in Prague!
