Most children love winter and snow. We can offer you a few tips that will certainly come in handy when planning a holiday. As well as hours of fun to be had out on the piste, we can also suggest some destinations for entertainment in the surrounding areas.
Dolní Morava Ski Resort
The ski resort in Dolní Morava on the border between East Bohemia and Moravia is one of the newest Czech resorts and is practically made for families with children. The smallest visitors will not only find ski slopes that meet their needs, but also various activities besides skiing, such as the Sky Walk, a children’s ski carousel, a children’s Poma lift, or evening sledging. Reliable skiing for families begins with services for the smallest skiers, who can choose between two children’s parks. The first is called ski park Amálka and the second Baby ski park, which is located between the departure station of the adult’s chairlift and Amálka. Older children will certainly be interested by the Family Funline, an amusement track consisting of a banked ski slope and moguls, ending with a tunnel! The nearby Snow Park with obstacles and several large jumps is designed for bigger children. A novelty is the Mammoth Alpine Coaster which has no parallel in the Czech Republic. You can expect an adrenaline ride on the bobsleigh track in the length of 3 kilometres across the forest terrain and open plains.Monínec
The Monínec ski resort in Central Bohemia is quite new, and is therefore equipped with the most modern technology. Located just 80 kilometres from Prague, it offers visitors two pleasant ski slopes which are almost two kilometres long. A children’s ski school is provided for the very youngest visitors. It is located in an enclosed space with a children’s playground for skiing lessons, a tubing track and, so as not to frighten the children with a traditional chairlift, a 90-metre conveyor belt. They have also not forgotten about teenagers, who will surely enjoy the high-quality Monínec Freestyle Area Snow Park. The entire snow park is professionally groomed on a daily basis, both by hand and by machine. It also has its own chairlift and floodlighting for evening runs.Boží Dar and Plešivec
The small town of Boží Dar and its ski resort, as well as the nearby Plešivec Ski Resort, are located in the Krušné Mountains (the Ore Mountains) in North-West Bohemia. For the very youngest children who are not yet able to ride a chairlift on their own, the resort includes four conveyor belts ranging from 30 to 80 metres in length, while fun is provided by dozens of attractions: a mountain carousel, an artificial tunnel in the shape of a giant mushroom, a host of snow animals or a several-metre-long snake, which can be used for practicing perfect turns. And where can you go when you have finished skiing? Why not go swimming at the Agricola Aquacentre in nearby Jáchymov?Lipno Ski Resort
The ski resort in the village of Lipno in South Bohemia is said to offer the most relaxing skiing experience for families with children anywhere in the Czech Republic. Here you will find, for example, Lišák the Fox Ski School, where children as young as three can learn to ski. Children can then practise under your supervision free of charge. Children’s facilities also include Lišákovo doupě (the Fox’s Den), where the kids can take a rest. Older, slightly more competitive children will be sure to ensure the timed slalom section. Are you wondering what to do with the kids once they become tired of skiing? In Lipno this won’t be a problem. You can choose between the local aqua park, ice skating on the Lipno reservoir, or taking a stroll along the Treetop Walkway.Adrenalin lovers can take a ride on the brand-new bobsleigh track called Boboffka, built in Čeladná, near Pustevny.
