The Royal Opera House in London in Great Britain announced the appointment of Jakub Hrůša as its new music director. Hrůša will begin his job in September 2025. So you have 3 years to visit the Czech Republic and see his performance in his homeland.
Counting since the World War II, Hrůša will be only the seventh music director of the world-famous ensemble, but the second Czech: in the mid-20th century, the Royal Opera was directed for three years by the legendary Rafael Kubelík.

More about Jakub Hrůša

Hrůša was born in Brno in the Czech Republic and studied conducting at Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts, where his teachers included Jiří Bělohlávek. He is currently chief conductor of the Bamberg Symphony and principal guest conductor of the Czech Philharmonic. In the past he has led opera productions for the Salzburg festival, Vienna State Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Zurich Opera and Frankfurt Opera.
