Photos of Moravian Tuscany succeed in the 2022 Travel Photographer of the Year awards
The Moravian Tuscany region, which resembles the undulating Italian landscape in its picturesque beauty, is one of the most photogenic places in Czechia. Czech photographer Jaroslav Hora has captured this charming corner of the region around Šaradice brilliantly. His images won him an Honourable Mention in the 2022 Travel Photographer of the Year awards in the category Deserts to Rainforests.

This one of the most attractive locations in Czechia, will enchant you with long, seemingly endless strips of brown or green fields. The picturesque undulating landscape of South Moravia is complemented only here and there by a lone tree, a small draw, or a white chapel.

When is the best time to go to Moravian Tuscany?

The ideal season for photographing Moravian Tuscany is spring when the meadows are ablaze with color. Especially from the end of April to mid-May, the yellow rape brightens up the landscape. In autumn, the fields are plowed, but the hills and the colorful green lines between the fields stand out all the more. So get your cameras ready and plan a trip to the south of Czechia this spring!

Czech photographers rock!

In addition to the photos from Moravian Tuscany, Jaroslav Hora succeeded in the same category also with photos from Africa. His pictures of the Namib desert won in the Deserts to Rainforests category! Another Czech was successful in the prestigious competition. With her pictures documenting fishermen on horseback in Oostduinkerke, Belgium, Magdaléna Straková won in the Culture category.
