700 years of Charles IV – the season begins at Prague Castle
The tourist season begins at Prague Castle with a packed program about the life and times of Charles IV, who was born 700 years ago this year. As King and Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV made improvements to Prague Castle so that it would meet the requirements demanded of it as the center of an empire, and what we admire today in the largest castle complex in the world is very much thanks to this monarch. Prague Castle will therefore open the season by joining in the celebrations marking the 700th jubilee of Charles IV. The most important exhibits will be on display to visitors for free!
The many exhibitions and events associated with Charles IV throughout Prague and the whole of the Czech Republic will show you for example how construction was carried out during his time and introduce you to a Charles IV, the man,  free of legends and myths, in the Bavarian-Czech State Exhibition.
