A Festival of Experiences

Explore the Czech and Polish Borderland

July 1 2021 - August 31 2021
A Festival of Experiences
The Festival of Experiences is a unique Czech and Polish project that presents the tourist area of the Kłodzko area that shares history with neighbouring Poland. The area on both sides of the border used to a part of one state – the Lands of the Bohemian Crown.
An important trading route, called Kladská, used to lead through the area, which is now the Hradec Králové Region in the Czech Republic, and it connected Prague with Kłodzko and continued to the Baltic Sea. Several centuries of joint history has created firm bonds between the Czechs and Poles who share experience. The Festival of Experiences started three years ago, both on the Czech and Polish side. Every year, the events focus on one theme. This year, we would like to invite you to eight places. The owners of each participating tourist attraction will prepare an experience programme for this season that will regularly repeat throughout the summer on a specified day of the week. It will focus on military history that formed the borderland.

You can explore the interesting places in Polish and Czech towns - Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Kłodzko, Duszniki-Zdrój, Kudowa-Zdrój, Świdnica, Náchod and Hronov – also with an application for mobile phones called the “Festival of Experiences in Kłodzko Borderland”. The application contains basic information about towns, the main attractions, and quests or quizzes that you can solve while walking along the urban trails. The trip will be both fun and educational. To solve the tasks, you do not need any previous knowledge, all you need is to pay attention. You can choose the Polish version under “More”.
