Hotel Tanzberg

Hotel Tanzberg

The restaurant at Hotel Tanzberg is unique thanks above all to its location in the historical building of a former rabbinate.

When the legendary Judah Loew ben Bezalel, better known as Rabbi Loew or the Maharal, was a provincial rabbi in Mikulov between 1553 and 1573 this building served as his home. What’s more, a valuable medieval historical landmark – a cylindrical water tank, probably part of a former mikveh – was discovered in the ground deep beneath the house.
While the restaurant is not kosher, it does adhere to the principles of kashrut. It prides itself on a combination of top class service and excellent food. It serves outstanding wines and holds tastings thanks to its close cooperation with the Tanzberg Mikulov winery.
