Nový Šaldorf - Sedlešovice

An ancient winemaking tradition is alive and well, nestled in the picturesque valley near the village of Nový Šaldorf. You can come here to discover the tastes and aromas of the quality wines offered by the Modré sklepy (Blue Cellars), as this place has been known since time immemorial.

The small valley is dotted with buildings of various shapes, colours, ages and styles. It was previously known in German as Blaue Keller, and now for less than a century in Czech as Modré sklepy. The towns of Nový Šaldorf and Sedlešovice, located not far from Znojmo, arose shortly after the founding of the Louka Monastery in 1190. Their founders, German colonists, brought grape vines with them, which they planted on the famous local vineyard called Kraví hora (Cow Mountain), and over the next six centuries they dug more than 200 wine cellars. The Winemakers’ Guild of Nový Šaldorf–Sedlešovice has around 10 winemakers. Each day from May to November they open at least one of the wine cellars in Nový Šaldorf.

Arte Vini

Historic vaulted cellar dug into the sandstone massif creates ideal conditions for grape processing and especially for the subsequent aging of wines. In the letters, directly below the old wooden press from the 19th century, is open to a cozy bar where you can enjoy both the local delicacies cold, or to order your prepared as warm hospitality. Of course, the wine bearing the brand Arte Vini are always to be served by the glass as well. Complemented by a range of interesting wines imported from around the world.
