Pavlov

Pavlov

At the foot of the highest peak of the Pálava Hills – Děvín – is the winemaking village of Pavlov, which since the 13th century has been the site of Děvičky Castle. Its ruin, which towers above the village, offers a breathtaking view of the NovéMlýny reservoirs and the entire region below Pálava.
The wealth brought by the renowned local wine is evident from the ornate Baroque gables of the vintners’ houses with wine cellars on Česká and Na cimbuří lanes. In one of the local cellars there is a newly installed exhibition of historical winemaking equipment. Don’t hesitate to heft the famous glass pipette used to extract wine from the barrel. Below Pavlov there is also a boat stop, where you can embark for a tour of the vast NovéMlýny reservoir system.
