Litice nad Orlicí Castle

Litice Castle is located in the beautiful countryside of Eastern Bohemia on a rocky island above a meander of the wild Orlice River. Today, it is a partially renovated castle ruin, located 7 km west of Žamberk. The castle was built at the end of the 13th century. Today, the castle has taken the form of renovation work by Jiří z Poděbrad from 1468, as the inscription at the entrance gate proclaims. You can take a tour of the castle's visitor's circuit, which leads through the south palace and the adjacent tower, and learn about the castle's history and its architecture. A trip to the castle is suitable for hiking tourists and cyclists, who can take advantage of 6 km long trails that lead through Orlice from Potštejn Natural Park to Litice Castle.
