Chateau Březnice

Chateau Březnice

Originally a water keep, converted in the 16th century into a Renaissance chateau.

A renaissance garden, a herb garden, and an English park surround the buildings.

The historical interiors contain collections assembled by the Kolowrat a Pálffy families (family portrait gallery, library, the feasting hall, armory, etc.) and include a chateau chapel. The library (Lokšanská library) is the oldest library of the classical type in the country. The Ludvík Kuba gallery presents mostly paintings with South Bohemian motifs.
