Visiting Baroque pearls by bike

Exploring the beauties in the north of Pilsen district

The Baroque bikeways in the northern part of Pilsen district wind through a picturesque Baroque countryside to discover architectural gems of the region.
All three Baroque bikeways in the north of Pilsen district both start and finish in the town of Plasy and are about 40 km long. They feature ten Baroque rest areas, which offer a view of the landscape, farmyards or sights. The region has involved municipalities, entrepreneurs, the town of Plasy, a monastery, centre of civil engineering, princely brewery, zoo and accommodation facilities on the routes of the bikeways such the guesthouse at Žebnice in the project.

The focal point is the complex in Mariánská Týnice, where the Baroque Centre was established some time ago. There is a big information board at the start and finish in Plasy. The marked bikeways of the Czech Tourist Club with the logo of West Bohemian Baroque mostly run on less busy roads. Maps with legends are available in the information centres and in the regional authority.

The Baroque bikeways combine cultural experiences with healthy physical activity. So, not only sportspeople and bicycle tourists but also those who love picturesque landscape and beautiful sights will enjoy themselves to the fullest.
