Let’s get biking in the heart of the Giant Mountains

We bring you tips on cycling trails, information about the Giant Mountains cyclo-buses and places where refreshments and bike-servicing are available. Get inspired and step on the pedal.
For the tenth year in a row, the Krkonoše Association of the Giant Mountains, in cooperation with the KRNAP Administration, has been implementing a project for cyclists in an effort to create a network of cycling trails leading from the Giant Mountains to their foothills. For athletes who can cover tens of kilometres, there is a wide range of options with a number of beautiful locations in the foothills. The almost 400 kilometres of cycling trails in the National Park are connected to other routes in the areas around Hostinné, Jilemnice, Trutnov, Vrchlabí, Žacléř and other mountain towns and villages with a total length of approximately 300 kilometres. The longest cycling trail in the region is the Krkonoše Diagonal, which begins in Harrachov and ends in Žacléř.

During your trips the Krkonoše cyclo-buses, which will take you and your bikes to the highest possible elevations, will help you with transport across the Krkonoše Mountains. You will love the beautiful panoramas and once you start heading back, mostly downhill, you will ride from high mountain areas to the very foothills of the Giant Mountains.

The Trek Špindl Bike Park in Špindlerův Mlýn, the Svatý Petr Ski Resort (5 tracks), the Bike Park in Rokytnice nad Jizerou (2 tracks), the Bike Park in the Mladé Buky Ski Park (3 tracks) and the Downhill MTB track Hnědý vrch in Pec pod Sněžkou will also give you a unique opportunity to experience mountain racing adrenaline in the Giant Mountains. MTB parks are always located near cable cars that can take you up the hill with your bike, and you will find trails featuring obstacles of varying difficulty upon your descent.
