Open-air museum in Přerov nad Labem: more than thirty old Bohemian buildings

When you visit Přerov nad Labem be sure to tour the open-air museum, which was the fourth one of its kind to be established in Europe. You will see a total of 32 structures – from old Bohemian timbered houses, bee hives and a bell tower to mansions below the local chateau, as well as an old schoolhouse and a hunting lodge. Perhaps the most interesting building is the former hall of the Přerov cottagers’ association from the 18th century. In the early 20th century it was reconstructed as a chalet and today represents a unique example of Elbe Valley folk architecture. In the chalet you can view two big rooms, behind which are the pantry and “black kitchen”, where the cook would prepare traditional Czech dishes.
