The international jury of the European Capital of Christmas has named Brno as the winner for 2024.
The European Capital of Christmas has tradition since 2017 under the patronage of the European Parliament. Previously we could see cities like Liege, Genoa, San Sebastian, Valkenburg or Kyiv to be awarded with this prestigious title.
The jury's decision was based on factors such as quality of the Christmas markets programme and the relevance to the European Values of Christmas.
The other award in the category of cities under 100 000 inhabitants went to Waterford in Ireland and Almanza in Spain received a special mention.
