700 years of Charles IV - Civitas Carolina
One of the institutions commemorating the anniversary of the birth of Charles IV will be the National Technical Museum in Prague. If you cannot see the relationship between history and technology, just try to imagine what a medieval crane looked like. Difficult? At the exhibition you can see one, together with many other construction elements and the equipment and procedures that made it possible for Prague to become the residence of the Emperor and one of the most admired cities in the world in the fourteenth century. Charles IV initiated the construction of several buildings that later became symbols of Prague, such as the St. Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge. The exhibition will show you how these impressive constructions were created. After seeing the exhibition, you can take a stroll through the nearby Letná and Stromovka parks or around the Výstaviště exhibition grounds.
