The United Islands of Prague is an international multi-genre festival that takes place on the River Vltava islands. The festival introduces the new finds on the Czech and global music scene with a potential to become stars. The Prague Islands with the main stage on the Střelecký Island come to life with new names across the genres every year. The festival gives new impulses to the cultural scene and shows visitors the current trends on global stages. The event also includes the concept of the Islands of Inspiration, prepared in cooperation with local associations, based on the idea of sustainability and diversity.
This year of festival will offer a celebration of twenty years of the Czech Republic in the European Union.Wednesday, May 1st, will be dedicated to celebratingEurope.From the original Europe Day, celebrated across the continent for many years, this year will be the European Week. Organizers will not only present the best of Czech emerging artists but also the most interesting discoveries from the European music scene.
Over four days, more than a hundred artists from across Europe will perform on stages. Visitors can look forward to a diverse range of new musical acts from both the domestic and international scenes.
The festival takes place right in the historic center of the capital. The islands in the city center and countless other non-traditional places in Prague will come alive with musical discoveries and a unique thematic non-musical program Islands of Inspiration.
