Zoopark in Chomutov

The largest Czech zoo by area presents animals and nature of the Palearctic region of Europe and Asia and North Africa. The ZOO has two parts - the Eurosafari in natural environment and classical runs and enclosures with an open-air museum. Through the whole area runs a miniature railroad, Eurosafari can explore by cross-country train Safari Express.

In the extensive safari area with a larch grove, a mixed forest, free pastures and a large water area live, for example, aurochs, deer, Siberian saiga antelopes, Scottish high cattle or but Asian odd-toed ungulates including the rare Przewalski horses.

There are also several children's playgrounds in the zoo park, the open-air museum Stará Ves (Old Village). The smallest visitors can get in touch with the animals in the petting zoo, another attraction is the rope park.
