Skicentrum Deštné in the Orlické Mountains

What to expect in winter in the Orlické Mountains?

The beautiful views into the Klodzko region in neighbouring Poland, and within the Czech Republic, are a frequent target of hikers, cyclists and, in the winter months, cross-country skiers. The mountains, with their rounded peaks and long, drawn-out inclines and declines, with a minimal number of steep sections, are ideal for this kind of excursions.

The Skicentrum Deštné v Orlických horách is a fully-equipped centre for winter sports. A single ski pass will allow you to enjoy five pistes of varying difficulty. The pistes, fully equipped with snow machines, are served by a cabin-lift and several ski tows. Evening skiing is extremely popular on both main pistes.

Fun for the kids and the more daring

Fans of freestyle and snowboarding can look forward to the high-quality Gravity Snowpark in Deštné, which is maintained daily and has many jumps and barriers. Fans of cross-country skiing have at their disposal several circuits right in the resort itself, or the nearly 100 km of maintained circuits in the surrounding area. The Skicentrum also includes a separate children’s ski complex with ski tows, a conveyor belt and animation programmes, service with rental of all equipment and a skiing and snowboarding school.

Deštné in the summer

The summer in Deštné offers beautiful countryside, a relaxed atmosphere, parking free-of-charge right next to the pistes and diverse options for accommodation and dining. The cabin-lift in Skicentrum Deštné operates regularly from the middle of June to the end of September, taking hikers, bicycles and prams up to the mountain-tops. Popular summer attractions include downhill rides in off-road tricycles and mountain bikes, the many ski lifts and excursions in off-road mountain quad bikes and off-road skates.
If you don’t want to go all the way up to the clouds, you’ll love the foothills of the Orlické Mountains, ancient small towns and long, forested valleys, ideal for excursions on bike and in-line skates. Another massive attraction are the military forts from the time of the First Czechoslovak Republic, such as the Hanička fort!
