Todo aquel que tenga un alma romántica y aventurera debería dirigirse a la montaña Kunětická hora, donde se sitúa el famoso castillo para buscar el Tesoro de Opatovice que esconde, mencionado en muchas leyendas. Verá los interiores del castillo, una exposición arqueológica en su sótano y una singular torre con mirador. También llama la atención la capilla de San Catalina, de estilo gótico tardío. Sin embargo, seguramente serán los aficionados al golf los que hagan su agosto, ya que contiene un campo de golf profesional de 18 hoyos con dimensiones de un recinto moderno de categoría mundial. En el green, que mide más de 6,5 km, le esperan 3 lagos y 89 bunkers.
Why visit?
A ruin of the Gothic castle on the highly visible hill stands out above the horizon in the fertile plain of the Elbe valley in East Bohemia. It used to be higher, but during the centuries the stone was extracted and used, for example, for constructions in the nearby town Pardubice. At the end the quarry slumped and took part of the castle’s area with it. In the 20th century the Museums Association in Pardubice provided for an extensive reconstruction according to the project of the excellent architect Dušan Jurkovič.
