Le château et la vallée de « Grand-mère » associent Ratibořice u České Skalice à la célèbre romancière tchèque Božena Němcová. Elle a décrit dans son roman « Grand-mère » son enfance passée dans ces lieux que vous pouvez aujourd’hui découvrir. Visitez l’intérieur du château aménagé dans le style classiciste, et découvrez quels grands personnages célèbres ont séjourné chez la duchesse Zaháňská. Parmi ceux-ci se trouvait notamment son amant, le prince de Metternich. Le tsar Alexandre Ier et Metternich s’y sont d’ailleurs entendus avec la Prusse en 1813 pour former une coalition contre Napoléon. She knew the whole of Europe, she was in her element when at the Viennese royal court, but she considered her summer residence amidst the beautiful countryside of East Bohemia as her real home.
