Ogni romantico e ogni avventuriero dovrebbe mettersi a cercare il tesoro di Opatovice, di cui trattano molte leggende, sulla cima del Monte Kunětická, dove si trova un famoso castello. Osservate gli interni del palazzo del castello, la mostra archeologica nel sotterraneo e la torre di guardia unica nel suo genere. Merita attenzione anche la cappella tardo-gotica di Santa Caterina. Certamente anche gli amanti del golf si troveranno a loro agio. Il campo da golf a 18 buche segue i parametri di classificazione mondiale di un moderno campo da gioco. Su un green lungo oltre 6,5 km vi attendono 3 laghi e 89 bunker.
Why visit?
A ruin of the Gothic castle on the highly visible hill stands out above the horizon in the fertile plain of the Elbe valley in East Bohemia. It used to be higher, but during the centuries the stone was extracted and used, for example, for constructions in the nearby town Pardubice. At the end the quarry slumped and took part of the castle’s area with it. In the 20th century the Museums Association in Pardubice provided for an extensive reconstruction according to the project of the excellent architect Dušan Jurkovič.
