Vyhlídka Máj in Central Bohemia offers one of the most impressive views of the Vltava River. This spot is only about 45 minutes south of Prague, but if you go you will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery. The highlight is a deep precipice going down to the river and the gnarled, twisted pine trees that grow there. The overlook has is charm in every season of the year, but it is most beautiful at the beginning of autumn when the surrounding trees are ablaze with reds, yellow, and oranges.

Mariina vyhlídka (Mary’s Viewpoint)

Where: Jetřichovické Rocks, Bohemian Switzerland, near Děčín
The lookout gazebo at Mary’s Rock is one of the best-known tourist destinations in the Jetřichovické Rocks and is one of the symbols of Bohemian Switzerland. The viewpoint is near Děčín in North Bohemia, less two hours from Prague and was built atop the rock outcrop in 1856. After a steep climb, you can enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the forests, rocks, and hills that make up Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The lookout at sunset is especially popular – and romantic.

Pravčická brána

Where: Bohemian Switzerland, near Děčín
Bohemian Switzerland National Park also boasts one of the largest natural rock gates in all of Europe. Pravčická brána is considered the most beautiful natural formation in the National Park and is the symbol of the whole area. You can admire and take photos of this stunning formation from several angles, and you can even sit directly under it – the span of the arch at the bottom is 26.5 m and the height of the opening is 16 m! Pravčická brána is best taken in together with a visit to Sokolí hnízdo (Falcon’s Nest), a mountain chateau from 1881. Today, it holds a museum of the National Park and a stylish restaurant decorated with original paintings.

Sloup Rock Castle

Where: North Bohemia, near Česká Lípa
The Sloup Rock Castle is no doubt one of the most interesting places in the Czech Republic. You can find it in North Bohemia, in the beautiful valley of Dobranovský potok near Česká Lípa. The castle was founded at the end of the 13th century on a 35-metre-tall sandstone rock and sits beside a romantic pond, which reflects its silhouette beautifully – a place simply made for stunning photographs. Inside the castle ground, there is a church with a room carved out of the rock itself.  There are lookout terraces, 100 metres long and 60 metres wide, covered with pine trees and oaks. The Na Stráži viewpoint also offers a lovely view of the village of Sloup and can be found by following a scenic route that passes by a forest theatre – from beginning to end, you can take some amazing shots.
