Mucha: The Family Collection
At the unique exhibition, not only you can follow the story of the brilliant Czech artist in a way it had never been presented before, you will even see some original artworks revealed to the public for the very first time!

Mucha the traveller

Through his paintingssculpturesphotographs, and advertising items from the family collection, you can get to know Alfons Mucha from his childhood in South Moravia, through his studies in Paris, his friendship with world-famous painter Paul Gauguin and sculptor Auguste Rodin, his life in America to his creation of one of the most important works of art in the Czech history – the Slav Epic.

Traces of the architect at every step

In addition to Mucha's works, you can also admire the work of the famous architect Eva Jiřičná - holder of the Order of the British Empire, member of several Royal Academies, and the American Hall of Fame. Jiřičná undertook the architectural rendering of the exhibition space that takes place in the Waldstein Riding School at Prague’s Lesser Town.

Like in Paris!

The concept of the exhibition follows a similar, record-breaking exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris, which was held under the auspices of the French Senate in 2018 and 2019. The exhibition was seen by 374,000 visitors!
